Average No More

I’ve never been a straight A’s student. Never an athlete nor a musician. I did practice karate but I stopped when I was blue belt. I did take piano course but it only lasted for 6 months or less. I do love singing but I don’t have a great voice and participate in competitions. I’ve always been the average girl for my entire life. I’ve never been in the spotlight. I often confused when people asked me what is my goal. What’s my dream. What I want to be. I gave them different answers every time. A singer, a model, stewardess, ballerina (and even I can’t do ballet), psychiatrist, civil engineer, writer, etc. You name it. But blame it to our lame education who gives us a lot of subjects to learn. Less creative activity. No focus. We all have different skills but we get the same tests.

Well, I’m here not to talk about our beloved country. I want to talk a little bit about myself. Since I’ve never been in a spotlight, I try to find my true passion. All these times I blend in with other people. Hang with the less cooler people (and that’s not even the real problem). But I found my passion when I read a local fashion blog. I thought “such an amazing thing to write things that we passionate about”. And I also thought “wow fashion is interesting”. So then I began my blog at 2012. The time when I graduated from high school. From the time of being a dork. My style was also graduated. Along my college years, I’ve made improvement with my sense of fashion. I abandoned my blog for 2 years because I had a shitty internet connection. But everything changes on 2014. I started to write everything I felt at that time. I made it more like a cyber journal than a fashion blog. And I still do :p

I started to read other fashion blogs. I attended some coolest fashion event and got to meet the people behind the blogs. I’m an introvert so it’s hard for me to meet new people and be friends with them. Some of them are nice. Some just looked at me like I didn’t belong there. Some just didn’t care. But it was such an experience.
I do what I can do to make my blog more interesting. I even upgraded my instagram feeds.

Super long post, I know. You don't have to read it, you know? Anyway, I think I'm gonna change my blog name. Blog names are like prayers and my current blog name is.. Well, negative. I need some positive vibes starting with blog name. Any ideas? :)

  1. Completely loved this blog post. My older brother always would make fun of me (still does) because I was never really "talented" with anything. I took piano and dance lessons for years, but was always mediocre. I took up the flute for band, but was always last chair. My grades were never really that great compared to my friends either. Though blogging has been a side hobby for me, once I graduated, I knew I wanted to work on it more.

Life is about always changing and growing, and it's wonderful that you're able to experience new things ^^ Love the outfit as well. As well as a new blog name, I'm sure you'll think of something fantastic :)

  4. I started to write fashion after I graduated from high school too. Well not exactly. I think it's around the first year of college. I was so back and forth about it, because I didn't have enough confidence. I didn't really love taking pictures of my self, and I got really embarrassed even if I'm with a lot of my friends :D keep up your good work, dear!

Anyway, I'm following you now on GFC. Would you mind to follow me back? ;)

  8. I AGREE ON "But blame it to our lame education who gives us a lot of subjects to learn. Less creative activity. No focus. We all have different skills but we get the same tests" OMG our country's education system is fucked up tbh!!!!! it was getting better in Kurikulum 2013 but y'know, indon b like 'OMGggGGG PAK/BU KOK BANYAK BANGET PR NYA' when in reality there's NO PR AT ALL, k13 was so heavenly for me, yet....ugh, stop it. im gonna write 2000 words rants here if i don't stop lol:))

I think bloggers that write is...idk...but...have their own charm, you know? it makes people get you easier...and I always looking forward to read the writings...^^ If there's no writing on the blogpost, I'd be confused as hell, WHAT TO COMMENT???????????????????lol^^
Eventhough I don't believe in prayers thingy, but, well... If you think changing blog's name is good then go ahead! I hope you'll have a new nice adventure with new blog's name^^ yay!

I think its amazing that you finally found something that you're passionate enough about to pursue, and wonderful that you've kept at it even through the ups and downs
Choosing a blog name is such a hard decision, but I'm sure you'll find something that suits you, your style and where you want your journal to go... best of luck with it!

  14. I also started outfit post when I was in the first year of college, hahaha. Sebelumnya pernah tapi jarang bangetttt, suka diejekin gitu deh jadinya males. Untung pas kuliah entah darimana dapet pencerahan xD whatever sama orang lain deh. Ga mau karena omongan orang lain passion dan kesenangan sendiri dikorbankan.
Nice outfit, btw. Love your skirt :)
